She is the second student from OMC’s Anaesthesia department reported to have committed suicide in the past year. Students from OMC were shocked to hear of her death.

On Tuesday, she reportedly spoke to her relatives who visited her home. Police said, she had food and left to her room but when family members checked on her later, she was unconscious. Savitha’s father Gangadhar said she did not have any problems at home. In October 2016, B Sravani a postgraduate student of the same department committed suicide by overdosing on anaesthetic drugs. “Medicos have access to anaesthetic medicines.
