Cherlapally inmates to grow herbs: Telangana State Prison Department

As a part of the Inmate Skills Development training will soon be provided to the prison inmates at Cherlapally central prison.

 HYDERABAD: As a part of the Inmate Skills Development (ISD), training will soon be provided to the prison inmates at Cherlapally central prison. The inmates will be trained to cultivate medicinal herbs. 
The training is a part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Telangana State Prison Department and Himalaya drug company on Wednesday.

As a part of the training, 5 acres of land within the prison will be used to cultivate Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) and Tulsi. Himalaya will provide the inmates with seeds. This is being done with the aim to re-skill the inmates before their reintegration into society.
