Babus caught in political turf war

The intensifying political activity and war of words between the former and sitting MLAs of Sangareddy constituency proved a bane to the government officials.

SANGAREDDY: The intensifying political activity and war of words between the former and sitting MLAs of Sangareddy constituency proved a bane to the government officials. After the visit of AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi to Sangareddy, former MLA and Congress leader T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy intensified his attack on the TRS government on various issues.

Recently, Reddy organised a massive protest in Sadasivapet demanding the government to show the land to 5,000 odd beneficiaries who got pattas during the Congress regime.Reacting sharply to the sitting ruling party MLA Ch Prabahakar said that the pattas were given to ineligible beneficiaries and even said that a comprehensive inquiry has to be conducted on the issue.Amid this political war, on Friday, Congress activists celebrated Jayaprakash Reddy’s birthday all over the constituency and this has created a headache to some of the government staff.

At the Zilla Parishad High School in Cheryal, Congress leaders distributed notebooks and pens to children as part of Reddy’s birthday. This did not go well with the ruling party leaders who took a serious view of the Congress leaders distributing books and the District Education Officer (DEO) suspended the in-charge headmaster P Swapna and a teacher Ramakrishna late evening.

The DEO also issued showcause notice to Cheryal School headmaster, who was on a four-day training. Teachers’ Associations expressed shock over the manner in which the government teachers were treated. They are now planning to organise a protest on Monday at DEO office in Sangareddy.Meanwhile, the Congress activists celebrated Jagga Reddy’s birthday in his presence at Roads and Buildings guest house in Sangareddy on a grand note.

The higher officials took a serious view of the celebrations at the guest house. They reportedly pulled up the staff members of the guest house for allowing the celebrations.Apart from this, R&B A E Ravindar lodged a complaint with the police stating that Congress leaders and activists forcefully entered into the guest house and created ruckus.  Police registered case under sections 443, 143, 447 and 188 of IPC on Congress leaders.
