HC issues notice to Tech Mahindra, TS govt on layoffs

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday admitted a writ petition by the employees of Tech Mahindra, who were recently retrenched from service. The court issued notices to the Telangana government and the company to respond to the petition within three weeks. Justice M S Ramachandra Rao was dealing with a petition by Sudhakar Suddala and three others seeking directions to the company to reinstate them.

Senior counsel A Satya Prasad, appearing for the petitioners,  said the petitioners had approached the joint commissioner of labour, who had initiated conciliation proceedings,  but the company had given them termination letters. After hearing the case, the judge ordered notices to the state government and Tech Mahindra and asked them to respond in three weeks.
