MAHBUBNAGAR: The suspension of a school teacher for sleeping in the classroom at Midjil Zilla Parishad High School in Mahbubnagar district has created ripples among teachers fraternity and government employees in the district.

The teachers and employees, while appreciating the sensible act of the kids of the school, felt that it has also highlighted the awareness levels of the rural students and villagers.

The fact that some children of the school had taken the picture of the senior assistant K Ramulu, while sleeping in the class, and sending the same through WhatsApp to none other than the District Education Officer (DEO) Somi Reddy shows how the students and the villagers are trying to assert their rights and punish the guilty.

Ramulu was found sleeping in the class while his students were busy doing their work in the picture sent to the DEO.

The teacher was suspended and asked by the DEO not to leave the Mahbubnagar headquarters during the period without obtaining prior permission from the district education authorities.

The incident has also created ripples in other departments.
