HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao signed the Single Licensing Policy on Tuesday. Under this traders can do business in any market across the state.

Till now, traders who have license for a particular market could not purchase goods in another market. This resulted in certain traders becoming licensed traders of a particular market which led to less competition and farmers were not getting the Minimum Support Price for their produce. Marketing minister T Harish Rao informed KCR that the traders should be allowed to have access to all markets so that there will be more competition and the farmers will get a good price for their produce.

Responding positively to this suggestion, Chandrasekhar Rao instructed officials for implementing Single Licensing Policy in the markets. With this, any trader/businessman having license in a market he/she can do business in any market. Traders need not take multiple licenses and with more traders doing the business, farmers will too get a good price. The minister said that the policy will also help online marketing.
