KARIMNAGAR: A Karimnagar court had issued summons to AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao on a complaint filed by a TRS leader for his statement on election expenditure in a TV interview last year. The Speaker was asked to appear before the court on April 20.
S Bhaskara Reddy of Karimnagar filed a petition stating that the Speaker claimed that he spent `30,000 in 1983 elections. But in 2014 elections he spent `11.50 crore which was against the norms of the Election Commission. The complainant wants Kodela to explain the source of money he had spent on election.
