HYDERABAD: Three drunk persons travelling on a bike to their respective homes at Gundlapochampally village on Sunday met with an accident and died on the spot.

The deceased persons have been identified as Nenavath Anil Kumar (25), a postgraduate student, Kandadi Shashidhar Reddy (22), an electrician and Chintu (20), who runs a tea stall, all hail from Gundlapochampally village.

Police said that the trio went to a bar at Ayodhya crossroads and consumed liquor. On their way back, the rider lost control over the bike, rammed a roadside tree and then crashed into the wall of a house, said Pet Basheerabad police.  The three persons suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot. “Drunken driving and overspeeding led to the accident. As the bike was on high speed, it went crashing into the compound wall after hitting the tree,” said Pet Basheerabad inspector S Ravi Chandra.

In a similar accident ten days ago, three people were killed while returning home from Pet Basheerabad after consuming alcohol. The accident took place at Suchitra crossroads due to overspeeding, police said.
