HYDERABAD: Principal opposition Congress on Tuesday fired salvos at Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in its own style by raising the issue of lack of representation of women in the state cabinet. On a day when the state government was hosting the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES)-2017 in the city on a grand note, Congress senior leader DK Aruna recalled that the eighth edition of the GES is being held here with the theme ‘Women First, Prosperity for All,’ and moreover, the main focus of the meet is on supporting women entrepreneurs.

“52% participants in the summit are women. But, there is no woman in CM KCR’s cabinet. What will the Chief Minister speak about women empowerment during the global meet when there is no women representation in the state Cabinet. IT Minister KT Rama Rao is going to share the dais with  Ivanka Trump, Advisor to the President of the USA,” she said, while addressing media here on Tuesday.
The Congress leader further wanted to know why Hyderabad city mayor Bonthu Rammohan was not allowed to attend the meet.

“If protocol issue is the real reason, then how can KTR, the IT Minister, be allowed to sit with Ivanka?,” the former minister questioned.Aruna took strong exception to the way Congress leaders were not invited to the Metro Rail launch programme, held here on Tuesday. “The way CM KCR did not invite the Congress Party, during whose regime Metro Rail was designed and got all permissions, to the Metro Rail inauguration, uncovers the real face of KCR,” she attacked.
