Cops tortured us overnight: Teen sisters interrogated on mother's death

Two young women were allegedly subjected to third-degree torture on Sunday during police interrogation in relation to the death of their mother.

MANCHERIAL: Two young women were allegedly subjected to third-degree torture on Sunday during police interrogation in relation to the death of their mother. The incident happened at Kasipet mandal in Mancherial district.

The two women alleged that Mandamarri Circle Inspector Ramachandra Rao and Devapur Sub-inspector Srikanth subjected them to third-degree torture, suspecting their role in the death of their mother, Md Farheen. Farheen died in Dharmajeepeta village on September 23. After questioning several suspects, the police reportedly summoned the two girls to police station on Saturday for interrogation.

The girls, who were released on Sunday morning, said that they could not even walk after coming out of the police station and had to go to Bellampally government hospital. They are being treated there now. When asked about the allegations of torture, ACP V Balu Jadhav called them false.
