HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education has warned all Intermediate colleges against conducting classes during the summer vacation, which, according to the board’s circular, is from March 29 to May 31.
At a meeting with the managements of private junior colleges, on Monday, board secretary A Ashok instructed them that under no circumstances should classes be held during the vacation. For students appearing for competitive examinations, however, classes could be run to clarify their doubts, he added.
Private colleges, on the other hand, said that since the results of first and second-year examinations will be declared soon, they will have to hold special classes for students who fail.
Also, TSBIE’s decision to run hostels on or off campuses of private unaided junior colleges has not gone down well with college managements. “Now the board wants to sanction hostels too. But managements feel `8 lakh fee is exorbitant,” said Madhusudan Reddy, president, Government & Inter Colleges Association.
