NALGONDA: In a first, a lemon market has been constructed at Nakrekal mandal headquarters, Marketing Minister T Harish Rao said.  He along with Energy Minister G Jagadhish Reddy inaugurated the lemon market, constructed at a cost of over `3 crore at Nakrekal on Sunday.

In this connection, Harish Rao addressed the gathering and said that the dream of lemon farmers had come to a reality. Previously due to the lack of such a market, the lemon farmers were being cheated by mediators. However, now with the new arrangement, the farmers would benefit, the Minister said.On request of Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham, he also promised to sanction a cold storage at Nakrekal and sanctioned `3 crore funds for the construction of Yerra canal. Land acquisition works were under progress for Ayitipamula lift irrigation project and the construction of a sub-market.  

The Minister announced that old Warangal and Suryapet would be the first to receive the benefits of Kaleswaram project.

State Energy Minister G Jagadhish Reddy said that the lemon farmers had requested the ZCongress party to construct a lemon market earlier, but their requests were ignored. In coming elections TRS would win all the seats, he said. Earlier during the day, TRS activists took out a rally with four thousand bikes and welcomed the Ministers.
