Notice to TS on identifying families hit by the irrigation project

HYDERABAD: A division bench of HC on Tuesday issued notices to Telangana government for filing counter affidavit on a PIL which sought direction to the State to take steps for appointing a special committee for proper identification of affected families under Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme and Kaleshwaram project other than the land owners for extending benefits of R&R package to them under new LA Act, 2013.

The bench, comprising acting chief justice Ramesh Ranganathan and justice J Uma Devi, passed this order on a PIL filed by Mahabubnagar District Palamoori Migrant Labour Union. The bench directed the government to file a counter affidavit and adjourned the case by three weeks.
