HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Miyapur on Wednesday. The woman took the step after being humiliated by her relative who had earlier posted a photograph of her with himself on a social networking website, claiming that they had recently gotten married.
The deceased has been identified as Bhavani, a resident of HMT Swarna colony in Miyapur.
According to police, Sai, a close relative of the victim had wanted to marry her for a long time. However, the family members refused to entertain his proposal.
On Tuesday, Sai came to the woman’s residence under the pretext of apologising. During the conversation, he took out his phone and clicked a selfie with her. He later posted the photo on a internet and claimed that he had married Bhavani.. Bhavani, after watching the picture, ended her life. The police registered a case against Sai.
