After securing 22nd rank in Swachh Survekshan 2017, Greater Hyderabad’s ranking slipped to 27th slot in the Swachh Survekshan 2018 that was released in Indore on Saturday.

HYDERABAD: After securing 22nd rank in Swachh Survekshan 2017, Greater Hyderabad’s ranking slipped to 27th slot in the Swachh Survekshan 2018 that was released in Indore on Saturday. Looks like city’s cleanliness claims have gone for a toss. Despite undertaking various cleanliness initiatives, Hyderabad’s rank slipped to 27th position out of 500 cities in the Swachh ranking this year.

The corporation claims to have made every effort to lure citizens to take part in the cleanliness mission to get good marks and better its rank in the national level survey. The corporation took the help of various social media platforms, organised street shows, held community meetings etc. However, the efforts have failed to win the hearts of citizens here. They have not shown  interest in taking part in the survey.

The ranking was carried out in three different categories including Service Level Progress (documentation), direct observation and citizen feedback. According to survey findings, Greater Hyderabad managed an overall score of 3,091.5 marks out of the total 4,000 marks which include service level progress (973), Direct Observation (1176.75) and  citizen feedback (941.50).

Apart from Hyderabad, other cities and towns which found places within 200 ranking includes   Warangal (31) followed by Suryapet (45), Karimnagar (73), Nalgonda (112), Adilabad (133), Nizamabad (148), Miryalaguda (151), Mahbubnagar (161) and Ramagundam (194).
