HYDERABAD: At a time when Congress is worrying about “Operation Akarsh” launched by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to further strengthen his party in the run-up to 2019 polls, KCR said many strong leaders belonging to opposition parties, particularly Congress, were ready to join the ruling TRS.

“Many leaders from other political parties are asking me to allow them to embrace the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to take part in the reconstruction of the new State. I told them that I can’t accommodate all the leaders in the party by providing them tickets in ensuing polls as seats are less. Hence, I asked them to wait for some more time,” he said after inducting former minister Danam Nagender into the pink party at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday.

KCR said many capable leaders like Nagender are needed for TRS to reconstruct Telangana on all fronts. “We will welcome whoever comes to join TRS to develop the State,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that the entire State was with his party as his government had made Telangana stand at the first place in all sectors in the country in a short span of four years.
“TS is No.1 in providing 24x7 free power for farmers. It is No.1 in Ease of Doing Business ranking. It is No.1 in implementing novel welfare measures for the well-being of all sections of people. We are implementing Rythu Bandhu, investment support scheme, for ryots by earmarking `12,000 crores in the State’s annual budget,” KCR said.

He claimed that all the development works and welfare schemes implemented by State government consolidated TRS’ position among various sections of electors, leaving no scope for opposition parties to regain life.

“Hence, opposition parties, mainly Congress leaders, have intensified a negative campaign against our government. They are criticising all the development works. They are creating hurdles for the construction of irrigation projects. As we have entered the election year, Congress leaders are making baseless allegations against the State government,” he attacked.

‘We are better than AP’

Shifting focus to Andhra Pradesh, Chandrasekhar Rao asked Congress leaders to compare the development in TS and AP. “Our government made the TS secure first place on all fronts in the country. But look at the state of affairs in neighbouring AP. Even after four years, nothing has been achieved there. Except for empty talks, nothing was done on the developmental front in AP. Those who claimed themselves as most experienced have failed to accomplish anything. Empty talk doesn’t pay. We have to work hard to achieve anything. We made the new Telangana State attain the first rank in the country,” he commented.
