HYDERABAD: A division bench of the High Court on Tuesday issued notice to the Telangana government asking it to submit full details on a taken-up PIL case seeking directions to the state to exclude MLAs, MLCs, MPs, NRIs, central and state government employees, pensioners, businessmen and others concerned from the purview of Rythu Bandhu scheme.

The bench of acting chief justice Ramesh Ranganathan and justice J Uma Devi passed the order on the taken-up PIL which was based on a letter written by P Yadagiri Reddy, an advocate. The advocate urged the court to issue orders that the scheme should be implemented to benefit only the needy farmers. There would be possible loss to the state exchequer if the scheme benefits were extended to others, he added.
