KHAMMAM: In a shocking incident, a Class-X student allegedly killed a Class-IV student at a tribal welfare residential hostel in Khammam. The duo was reportedly fighting over a mobile phone. The incident has raised concerns over the efficiency of hostel officials in monitoring activities of the student. According to police, the deceased boy had fractured his left hand and had injuries on head and chest.

The incident happened on Tuesday evening. The hostel warden was not around and a fight broke out between the duo. The accused minor boy allegedly hit the younger one with a trunk box, leaving him dead on the spot. According to police, the accused boy was furious as the deceased refused to give him the mobile phone.  The students who rushed hearing the commotion noticed the deceased had passed out on the floor.

According to other students, the duo was fighting over issues for quite sometime now. They also said that this was not the first time that the accused had attacked one of the students.

“Earlier, he beat up two other students. The hostel staff called up his parents and issued a warning about his behaviour,” said another student. Caretakers claim the accused boy’s behaviour was abnormal and that he had cognitive issues. Why they didn’t bring up the issue till a murder took place, however, is not known.
