Karimnagar corporators want ex-mayor sacked

On other hand, Sohan Singh released an open letter to the people of Karimnagar in which he cited the request of the Corporators to expel him and his wife from the party.

KARIMNAGAR: A day after an audio recording of the husband of TRS corporator from Division 49 in Karimnagar went viral, TRS corporators on Sunday met TS Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar in Hyderabad and lodged a complaint.

They sought the expulsion of corporator Kamaljit Kour and her husband Sohan Singh from the party, as well as former Karimnagar mayor S Ravinder Singh. They alleged that the audio clip -- in which Sohan Singh allegedly criticises BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar over issues in division issues and incomplete road works -- is part of a larger conspiracy against the Minister.

The Corporators reminded Vinod Kumar that the former mayor had actually rebelled against the party supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao forgave him and took him back into the party fold. “Now, he has hatched a conspiracy against Minister Kamalakar and Mayor Y Sunil Rao,” they alleged. The Corporators said that abo-ut 350 complaints have been lodged against Smart City works and the complainants are mentally harassing them.

Meanwhile, Kamalakar refused to be drawn into the controversy, saying that he would not comment on the issue. “A decision would be taken by TRS district president GV Ramakrishna Rao and the party high command,” the Minister said.

On other hand, Sohan Singh released an open letter to the people of Karimnagar in which he cited the request of the Corporators to expel him and his wife from the party. “Why were there no demands for suspension of Corporators whose actions were against the interests of the party? The husband of a certain Corporator even locked the municipal office, yet no action was sought against him,” Sohan Singh wrote, adding that the people of Karimnagar were aware of who is the land mafia and who takes bribes.
