HYDERABAD: TPCC president Revanth Reddy on Sunday wondered if Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wanted to merge former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy’s Janata Dal (S) with his proposed national party. He was reacting to Kumaraswamy meeting Rao at Pragati Bhavan earlier in the day.

Addressing a press conference here, Revanth alleged that Rao was implementing the agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to weaken the Congress. “TRS supremo Chandrasekhar Rao’s meetings with leaders of various regional parties from various States is part of the strategy to finish off the Congress. To achieve this end, Rao has taken a ‘supari’ from the PM,” the TPCC chief alleged.

Advising Rao to initiate talks with NDA members if he was serious about defeating the BJP, Revanth said, “Though there are reports that TDP is likely to enter into an alliance with the BJP. KCR has neither met Chandrababu Naidu nor AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, or Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, or other Opposition leaders like Mayavathi who have been supporting the BJP and the NDA. However, KCR is meeting UPA members and Congress allies such as JMM’s Hemant Soren, Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thakeray, and now, Kumaraswamy. All these leaders had formed governments with the support of the Congress in their respective States.”

Reiterating his allegation that Rao was trying to divide the UPA and strengthen the NDA, the TPCC chief added: “They have a tacit understanding that KCR will support Narendra Modi to get reelected for a third time, and Modi will help KCR become the Chief Minister for the third time.”Speaking on the suicide of village revenue assistants (VRA) in the State, Revanth demanded that the government fulfil their demands.
