HYDERABAD: Recalling the mass resignations by people’s representatives during the Telangana statehood movement, BJP MLA Eatala Rajender on Sunday said that a similar movement has started in the State now, with the aim of “crushing the arrogance of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao”.

Assuring that BJP candidate for Munugode byelection Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy will not be made to shed tears and suffer like he was during the Huzurabad byelection, Rajender declared that come what may, BJP will win in Munugode. A meeting of BJP booth committee in-charges was held in Munugode on Sunday, which was attended by BJP’s new in-charge for Telangana Sunil Bansal, former MPs Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and G Vivek Venkataswamy, and others.

Addressing the gathering, Rajender said that if Rajagopal Reddy was concerned about contracts, he would have left the Congress when 12 of its MLAs had joined the TRS after the 2018 Assembly elections.
He said that the people of Munugode will give their answer to those assuming that there was no BJP in Nalgonda district. “I predict that the history of Huzurabad will be repeated in Nalgonda district in the near future,” Rajender said.

Questioning the TRS supremo whether he would dare to go to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar with his ambition to start a national party, Rajender said that defeating the TRS was his primary goal in the next elections.
Vishweshwar Reddy said that Rajagopal Reddy’s resignation as MLA was a sacrifice he made for the people of his constituency, and not himself. He reminded that if anybody was now getting the benefits of welfare schemes, it was only due to Rajagopal’s resignation.

“While the TRS had money, power and police as its weapons in the by-election, discipline and honesty were the two weapons in the hands of BJP workers in Munugode, Vishweshwar Reddy said.
