THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A piquant situation has emerged in the two political fronts: Left Democratic Front and United Democratic Front in Kerala, with all love lost among major parties.

If a poll were to be done and a benchmark set on lost love, the LDF would top the list, given the war of words between the leaders of the CPI(M) and the CPI. It can only be deemed an irony that the meltdown of love was sparked by a flex board depicting Jesus Christ, the messiah who preached universal love. The verbal duel between Pinarayi Vijayan and C K Chandrappan reached such a level that many comrades were forced to shelve their love for each other, at least temporarily.

Though the UDF appears to be marginally better off, the feud in Kerala Congress (B) has reached a flashpoint and slugging it out is the father-son duo, R Balakrishna Pillai, party chairman and K B Ganeshkumar, Forest Minister. The tainted relationship between Congress and Kerala Congress (M) is no longer a secret, which came to light during the Mullaperiyar Dam row.
