The Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) on Monday served a notice to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister R Ashoka in connection with the alleged illegal allotment of land to Mayor D Venkatesh Murthy and wife K Prabha.
It was alleged that as MLA of the Bangalore South constituency, Ashoka gave away eight acres of Bagair Hukum land to the Murthys in Somanahalli village under Uttarahalli hobli in the Bangalore South constituency. Murthy had moved the High Court stating that the BMTF, which initiated a suo motu case against him, had no powers to do so. The High Court has stayed the investigation. A plaint has been registered with the Lokayukta on the same case
