This is not the first and certainly not the last time we’ll be tempted with classic dishes from the gullies of Purani Dilli.

This time around, its Pind Balluchi that has crafted a menu that offers popular items like Masala Burra Kebab, Tandoori Butter Chicken, Nayaab Gurde-Kaleji, Firdausi Mutton Stu, Seekh Kebab Masala, Murgh ke Parche, Murg Shahjahani Korma, Mahi-e-Aab, Lazeez Arvi ki Tikki and Paneer Pudina Tikka, to name a few. “The food of Purani Dilli is my personal favourite, so conceptualising the menu was quite stimulating. Mughlai is a cuisine that can never lose its zing. I cannot resist Burra Kebab and Khatte Baingan, so I recommend you to try it out,’’ says the head chef of the restaurant, Manoj Rai, who teamed up with the Khansamas from Old Delhi to craft this special menu.

Rai recalls how the so many occasions when his friends and he would make plans to visit Old Delhi and spend the day trying out all its specialities. However, that never happened. ‘‘Because of everybody’s busy schedules and the blistering heat outside, it became impossible to follow up on those plans. Introducing this menu has brought Chandini Chowk closer home and in a much cooler environment,” he says, adding that the festival brings all revered dishes under one roof and promises to do complete justice to the authenticity of the original recipes.
