Want to savour the prasadam of Mahamaham? All you have to do is book it at any post office in India online by February 29. The prasadam, packed in a carton, would be delivered at your door step through registered parcel.
The festival, which is celebrated once in 12 years, will be held on February 22 and Tamil Nadu Postal Circle has tied up with Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department for the booking and dispatch of prasadams across all post offices in India. The cost of the prasadam is Rs 150, which contains holy water of Mahamaham tank and prasadams of 17 temples in Kumbakonam. Kumbakonam Head Post Office will dispatch the prasadams from February 23.
Around 36 lakh people are expected to participate in the event, said Thanjavur collector Dr N Subbaiyan.
