In the family-run TRS, Chief Minister KCR's daughter Kavitha has become the political face as son KTR plays No. 2 in the government.
Kavitha's Storm in T-Cup

VIJAYAWADA: She is a proud Telangana bidda (daughter). She is also the fiery politician who threw a challenge at Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and Telangana State BJP president G Kishan Reddy to bring `20,000 crore package to the new state in order to prove their closeness to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She is TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter Kavitha who knows how to take the bull by its horns.

Kavitha has become the political face of the TRS both in the state and at the national capital. When KCR’s yagna was on recently, his son K T Rama Rao was running the government while Kavitha had taken to the street to ensure TRS victory in the local polls—a referendum for the party in power, which is solely run by the Rao dynasty. “Politics is in my blood. We want to serve the people. All of us breathe, eat and drink politics. My vision is to fulfill the dreams of people of my land. I want to help my father in his efforts to transform the new State into a Bangaru (Golden) Telangana," said the 37-year-old engineer-turned-politician.

Kavitha, after her return from the US, where worked as a software engineer, begun associating herself with the Telangana movement in 2010. When her father KCR went on an indefinite fast demanding statehood for Telangana, Kavitha led the Million March protest demonstration at Tank bund in Hyderabad. Her efforts to revive Bathukama festival made her single-handedly mobilize the majority of the women in the State towards the ruling TRS.  She defeated the then Congress MP Madhu Yashki Goud and made her maiden entry into Parliament during last polls.
