Better late than never. On the evening of April 20, Coach launched its flagship store at DLF Emporio, which was attended by the brand’s international executives, Indian partner, patrons and enthusiasts, along with actor Athiya Shetty.

Coach was the aspirational brand of yesteryears when desis travelling abroad bought its handbags while the men grabbed Bally shoes. With the onslaught of fashion houses entering the accessory segment, Coach got lost in the din of LV and Gucci bags. Today it has reinvented itself, upping the fashion quotient selling  not just handbags but also footwear, scarves and jewellery.

At the launch, Athiya Shetty, who was promoting the brand, told everybody how she was in love with the logo of the horse and carriage. “It’s regal and distinct,” she said, adding, “I also love that Coach has been using studs and embellishments on their bags.”
The CEO of Coach New York, Victor Luis and the International Group President Ian Bickley were seen entertaining the guests. Their Indian partner, Genesis Luxury’s Sanjay Kapoor, played the gracious host for the soiree.
Others seen at the launch were DLF’s Savitri Singh, designers Mandira Wirk, Varun Bahl, Siddharth Tytler and Anupama Dayal, along with brand enthusiasts Prerna Subba, Payal Sen and Fariha Ansari.
