A similar notice was served under Section 41 (A) of CrPC on TDP leader Ponguru Narayana Rao, who was the minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development during the TDP regime.
The Andhra CID is learnt to have registered an FIR against Naidu for various procedural irregularities with regard to decisions taken in relation to the capital city project.
These petitions came up for hearing before a bench comprising Justices Ashok Bhushan and R S Reddy.
In an affidavit filed in the top court, Justice (retd) Eswaraiah said he had sought information from a suspended judicial officer regarding the benami transactions in a phone conversation.
To get to the bottom of the entire issue, an in-depth investigation by the CID is a must, he stressed.
