Director of Public Health Dr. P Hymavathi said three foreign returnees and the contact of a traveller tested positive for Omicron.
Of the seven new cases, six are returnees from abroad, while one is a traveller from Goa. Of them, two are women and five men.

Meanwhile, the number of new Covid-19 infections reported in the state continued to be above the 100-mark. Andhra Pradesh reported 130 new cases from 33,188 samples, taking the tally to 20,76,979.
Of the total 10 new cases, three were reported from East Godavari, two each from Anantapur and Kurnool, and one each from West Godavari, Chittoor and Guntur district.
The air traveller had originally tested negative in Mumbai where he entered the country but later tested positive after travelling to Visakhapatnam and later to Vizianagaram.
Till now, Omicron has been detected in Maharashtra (18), Rajasthan (9), Karnataka (3), Karnataka (3) and Andhra Pradesh (1) and in Union Territories of Delhi (2) and Chandigarh (1).
