There is no official reservation of candidates for OBCs as State is yet to complete the SC triple test
President of BJP OBC Morcha Surath Biswal said the State government will have to take a decision on this based on its assessment of the OBC population.
While the Centre has been providing 27 per cent reservation to OBCs in educational institutions, the BJD government is reluctant to extend similar benefits to OBC students of Odisha.
“We will draw the attention of the National OBC Commission to the injustice meted out by the State government to the vast majority of the backward classes,” BJP OBC Morcha President said.
Amid mounting pressure from the Opposition and some allies, including the JDU in Bihar, the BJP, which was vehemently opposed to the caste census till recently, is preparing strategies.
