The family was attacked by a rival group over past enmity at Burla in Sambalpur district, police sources said on Wednesday.
35 paramedical staff of the hospital have also been infected.
Director of VIMSAR Lalit Meher said all the doctors who had come in contact with the infected persons have been quarantined. They include 38 doctors of the Medicine department.
All outpatient departments and routine surgery at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences, Burla will continue to remain closed for seven more days.
However, Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research will be exempted from the restriction. The decision was taken after local cases were reported from Burla.
While mechanical work on the treatment plant had to be stopped midway due to the lockdown, the laying of pipelines for household connection in some localities has resumed recently.
A resident of Lahunipada, Sarada Naik, had brought his infant son to VIMSAR in a critical condition on May 22. The baby was shifted to SNCU but succumbed on Thursday at around 10 pm.
However, a day later Tekemani suffered from fever and was rushed to a private nursing home and then to the District Headquarters Hospital.
The proposed Tertiary Care Cancer Centre at VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla is yet to make any headway despite identification of land for the purpose.
