Private (independent) schools in the region, with a pass percentage of 99.26, performed better than government schools which recorded a success rate of 97.09%
In what is now a tradition, girl students outperformed boys in overall pass percentage by 5.96%. The overall pass percentage rose by 5.38 per cent.

Among the 16 regions in the country, Bengaluru was only second to Trivandrum which secured a 97.67 pass percentage. Chennai and Delhi west and east regions followed Bengaluru
Last year, the pass percentage was 83.40 per cent.
The region tops with the percentage of 97.32 percent followed by Chennai region at 93.87 and Delhi at 89.
Though no student from these regions figured among the top 10 toppers nationally in the general category, A Vijay Ganesh from Palakkad emerged national topper in the differently-abled category.
