The pandemic has ravaged the world's economy, inflamed geopolitical tensions and upended lives, from Indian slums and Brazil's jungles to America's biggest city New York.
The state has again crossed the 140-mark in Covid deaths, with 146 fatalities on Monday.
There were 104 deaths due to Covid-19 on Thursday, which took the death toll past the 6K mark in Karnataka, taking the tally to 6,054 cases.
Of the total, 130 deaths occurred between August 1 and 21. From March 28 to July 31, there were only 73 deaths
A total of 7,385 cases added to the total positives in the state, taking the tally up to 2,56,975. Of these, 2,912 cases were from Bengaluru — the largest chunk.
New Delhi on Sunday recorded 2,244 new COVID-19 cases, taking the capital's tally to 99,444. The city has also reported 63 new deaths due to coronavirus.
Madhya Pradesh has reported 1,407 cases, including 127 patients recovered and 70 patients dead.
On Sunday the death toll amounted to 2,606 and the total case count reached 40,174.
