The active cases have declined to 2,06,586, the lowest in 215 days, comprising 0.61 per cent of the total infections while the national COVID recovery rate was recorded at 98.07 per cent.
Andhra Pradesh recorded over 3,200 recoveries and 17 deaths, with the active caseload going below 25,000.
The fresh spike saw the cumulative cases cross 1.31 lakh in Nellore, 1.26 lakh in Prakasam and 1.67 lakh in West Godavari district.
Meanwhile, the state reported 11,042 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally since the beginning of the pandemic to 27,39,290.
"In the last 24 hours, we have the least number of cases in the last 61 days which is 1,00,636 cases, 1,74,399 recoveries were reported. Our fatality rate is 1.20 per cent," the minister said.
Our analysis indicates that the 'numerical mortality peak of the second wave' will occur soon - within the next one week - and from then on, the number of deaths will steadily decline.
