India has exported over 66 million vaccine doses to nearly 100 countries through grants, commercial shipments and the COVAX facility.
As per the doctor's advice and the prior complications of the Covishield vaccine, the petitioner was reportedly advised to take Covaxin as the second dose.
India is currently using made-in-India vaccines -- Covishield manufactured by SII and Covaxin of Bharat Biotech -- in its COVID-19 immunisation programme.
The petitioner will have to bear in mind while arguing this matter that "India has a good reputation and such proceedings will have an international impact", the HC said.
The company's response came after the Health Ministry in a statement refuted allegations that it has not placed any fresh orders for the Covishield vaccine with SII.
The drop in infection at least 21 days after the first dose for Pfizer is 69 per cent and for AstraZeneca 60 per cent, according to the study.
Scientific evidence from some countries shows that while the vaccine is about 60-65 % effective at a gap of four weeks, it can be up to 90 % effective when given at an interval of 12 weeks.
