Mercury soars to 42.6 degree Celsius in capital, conditions expected to prevail today as well
Delhi has been reeling under a searing heat wave for the past few days, though a spell of rain in some parts brought some relief in the evening.
Delhi has been reeling under heatwave-like conditions for four days in a row and recorded a maximum temperature of 41.3 degrees Celsius on Friday.
The demand reached 7,026 MW at 3.30 pm. Delhi’s peak power demand also crossed the season’s previous peak of 6,921 MW, recorded just a day earlier on June 30.
There has been no rainfall in the last three days and warm westerly winds are blowing across a major part of northwest India, which has not been covered by the monsoon yet.
