The police claimed in its final report filed before Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Singh that he lived inside the jail like a 'king'.
Noting that there is no spread of COVID-19 in the jails, Delhi high court has directed the surrender of prisoners, who were released on interim bails, in a phased manner, starting November 8.
Special Judge Parveen Singh awarded 12-year jail terms to Mohd. Shafi Shah and Muzzafar Ahmad Dar and 10-year-jail terms to Talib Lali and Mushtaq Ahmad Lone.
All the inmates sustained minor injuries, which were self-inflicted, the jail officials said, adding that one of them was sent to the hospital, but he is back in the jail after treatment.
Covid-appropriate behaviour, including social distancing, among the inmates is being strictly followed, a senior jail official said.
As on Thursday, 1,648 Tihar Jail inmates aged above 45 and 5,750 below the age of 45 years were given the vaccines.
These include inmates who were released last year and then surrendered with no adverse report, also new prisoners who were eligible for such interim bail or emergency parole in view of the pandemic.
