WHO's approval to Covaxin: External Affairs Minister Jaishankar says it facilitates travel for Indians
The World Health Organisation (WHO) on November 3, 2021, granted emergency use approval for Bharat Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin.
Italy has been holding the presidency of the G20 since December last year.
Jaishankar would call on President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid during his standalone visit.
The minister met Lavrov on the sidelines of the Ministerial meeting of the Conference of Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.
During the visit, the Nepali Congress team is scheduled to call on Jaishankar, BJP President J P Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath among others.
The visit by the Saudi foreign minister comes at a time when India has been engaged with all leading powers on the developments in Afghanistan following its takeover by the Taliban.
Meanwhile, Animal Husbandry Minister Seediri Appalaraju has been in touch with the workers and was trying to get further details of the stranded workers to bring them back to AP.
On the question of China calling the Quad an “Asian NATO,” Jaishankar said China should not misrepresent reality.
Around 650 Sikhs and 50 Hindus are stuck in Afghanistan and have become sitting targets for the Taliban adamant to kill minorities belonging to Indian origin, Congress leader Jaiveer Shergill said.
