At nights big ships fail to spot small boats, the victims of the latest midsea collision said.
The ship rammed the boat from behind, breaking it in two and throwing the fishermen into the sea.
The incident occurred at around 3. 30 AM while the boat carrying around 15 fishermen from Munambam area of Ernakulam district was engaged in fishing off Chettuva coast.
