The farmers held a protest at the Ghazipur border, demanding arrest and action in the Lakhimpur accident where 8 people including farmers have been killed.
Referring to the protest of the farmers against the three contentious farm laws, Delhi Congress chief Chaudhary Anil Kumar said that over 600 farmers had died while they were on dharna.
“We are far away from our homes because the government has left us with no other option. It has left us on the road,” fumed Virappan, who hails from Karnataka.
The Delhi Police has said adequate security arrangements have been put in place in view of the bandh.
