Police seized 915 grams of heroin with a market value exceeding Rs 1 crore in the international market from their possession.
Sources said the joint operation was aimed at busting a Nigerian racket operating in Maharashtra. It led the teams, including SI Rajendra, to Maharashtra, where they carried out raids a few days ago.
The 43-year-old accused was taken into custody and remanded under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The arrested person was identified as Isadhul Haq alias Chottai Miya, 25, of Nagaon, Assam.
The seizure was made by a joint team of the Border Security Force and the Punjab Police, a BSF spokesperson said.
