Jailed former Congress MLA R Roshan Baig has been remanded in CBI custody for a few hours on Wednesday, said placed sources.

According to sources in the CBI, Baig was rushed to the Jayadeva hospital after he developed health-related complications on Thursday evening.
The CBI had obtained Baig’s custody to question him in front of jailed founder of IMA Mohammed Mansoor Khan, who is also currently in CBI custody, said sources.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday is learnt to have questioned IPS officer IGP Hemant Nimbalkar in connection with the Rs 4,000 crore IMA fraud case.
Baig was summoned by the CBI on Sunday on alleged “material evidence” against him and grilled for several hours after which the CBI arrested him
Baig is lodged at the quarantine centre at the prison. He will be there for 14 days and he will be moved to regular barracks later.
Special Officer for IMA and other scam cases Harsh Gupta said that the deadline is till December 24 and no applications will be accepted after the stipulated period.
The call centre will remain operational during the claim period so that proper guidance can be given to the depositors to file applications, the CA said.
He is suffering from many aliments, his lawyer pleads before court.
The state government has issued orders suspending the three officers on October 17, pending Joint Departmental Enquiry against the trio.
The nod is given under section 197 of the Criminal Procedure Code and also under section 170 of the Karnataka Police Act.
Vijayshankar reportedly committed suicide in June even before the government could grant sanction to the CBI to prosecute him in the IMA scam.
While the exact cause is being investigated, it is strongly suspected that the officer took his own life as he was depressed after his name surfaced in the scam and he was also arrested in the case.
After being placed under suspension, Vijayashankar was posted as Additional Mission Director-1 of Sakala department about 20 days ago.
