ICMR writes to WHO disagreeing with HCQ assessment, officials say international trial dosage four times higher than India
Buoyed by the preliminary success observed in the treatment of COVID-19 patients through these HCQ tablets, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has written to the WHO.
Sources said that in the project, 50 serum samples will be collected from 10 randomly picked containment areas in every city. This will amount to the overall testing of 5,000 samples in these cities.
ICMR has now recommended the TrueNat COVID-19 test as a two-step test.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) had approved the use of TrueNat system for conducting coronavirus tests on April 10, while recommending it only as a screening test.

The Drug Controller General of India said ICMR has submitted a list of institutes, which have shown an interest in the trial, to the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation.
