As per the past agreements, the AP is entitled to draw 34 tmcft from Srisailam.

When the Board wanted to stop power generation, Telangana Special Chief Secretary Rajat Kumar and other officials from the State registered a strong protest against the same and staged a walkout.
They argued that the 200 TMC of water used by TS should be accounted for against its share.
The Board decided to maintain a separate record of surplus water utilisation, though it would not form part of the water utilisation account.
Though the projects common to both States — Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar — have filled up to the brim, the Board has not allocated water to either State during the current water year.

It may be mentioned here that the KRMB meeting and hearings of cases before the NGT and Supreme Court are scheduled to be held on August 27.
The KRMB had also written to Telangana on multiple occasions asking the latter to stop power generation, but to no avail.
In a letter to the board, Irrigation Engineer-in-Chief C Muralidhar says Andhra Pradesh has been utilising more water than its earmarked share of 31.90 tmcft.
