The apex court has transferred the trial in the Kathua gang rape and murder case to Pathankot after taking note of the plea of the father of the victim apprehending threat to the family.
The court had earlier warned that anyone disclosing rape victim's identity can be imprisoned for six-month.
The accused said if the trial at all needed to be shifted outside Kathua, then it should be done within the Jammu district, a prayer which was opposed by the victim's father.
A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra directed that the trial should be held in-camera, be fast-tracked and conducted on a day-to-day basis to avoid any delay.
Describing rape as an evil not just of an individual, but of society, Modi said one should remember that the one committing the sin is someone’s son.
He further said all BJP ministers have tendered their resignations to him and the decision on names in the reshuffle will be taken after the discussions with the central leaders.
