The petitioners alleged that the facilities provided at Konkan Railway stations are far below standard, compared to Indian Railways.
So far, nine trains have been regulated due to disruption of services on the route.
Train traffic along the Konkan route was affected following heavy rain in the region and the ingress of water and mud in the Old Goa Karmali Tunnel.
The train - 02414 - was going to Madgaon in Goa when it derailed inside Karbude tunnel, approximately 325 kms from Mumbai at around 4.15 am.
The cancellation comes in the wake of reduced passenger traffic due to rapid increase in COVID-19 cases across the country.
