Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio said that all stakeholders had appealed for the abolishment of the draconian law and the Centre has finally heard the appeals of the people.
The Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups appreciated the state government for taking the views of Nagaland tribes, civil societies and non-Naga indigenous communities.
Six coal mine workers were killed at Oting village in Mon district on Saturday in a botched-up ambush by security forces.
The situation in Mon district is under control, the Nagaland government said on Tuesday, calling upon the Naga groups for working towards a permanent solution.
The Centre issued a notification on December 30 last year extending the law in Nagaland till July-end.
