The mining industry in India has grown in recent years, and Odisha Mining is the largest mining exhibition that has helped to bring together the segment’s key players.
Odisha minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick said that the the Rashtriya Khanij Vikas Puraskar given away in three categories and Odisha received the second prize of Rs 2 crore in Category II.
On May 22, the Union government imposed export tax of 15 per cent on steel and stainless steel products and 45 per cent on iron ore pellets.
It may be noted that out of the total auction of 8,76,000 tonne by OMC, only 5,00,000 tonne was booked during the auction.
The State government has welcomed and adapted to the changing technologies in mining and has introduced revolutionising systems like Integrated Mines and Mineral Management System.
