The Odisha Government on Friday announced holidays for school students from October 9 to 20 in wake of the ensuing festivals.
The district officials said they will go for mass testing of students in the area to tackle any exigency situation, as it is the second incident of students testing positive in the district.
The Common PG Entrance Test (CPET)-2021 for admission of students to different post-graduate courses in universities and colleges will start from Monday and continue till September 3.
A total 43,630 Class X students from the State were assessed for the exams out of which 43,288 cleared, CBSE Regional Director for Bhubaneswar region T Mate said.
The BSE will prepare the questions and dispatch the same to the districts from where they will be sent to schools for assessment.
In Cuttack, hundreds of students and guardians gheraoed the BSE office and threatened to move the court if the board fails to address their grievances.
Blessed with the cancellation of annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a whopping 96.73 per cent (pc) students made the grades this year.
Academicians, on the other hand, said the cancellation of Class X test and postponing of Plus II exams is a positive move in view of the prevailing pandemic situation.
Colleges and institutions where the reserved seats fall vacant, authorities will be allowed to fill those seats with students from other respective categories, the notification read.
