For the period from April 21 to April 30, a total of 26,500 Remdesivir injections have been allocated to Rajasthan by the Centre, Health Minister Raghu Sharma said in a statement.

Dr G Srinivasa Rao stated that the private hospitals had been sensitised and trained to not prescribe the drug for every case as it was meant for restrictive use.
Police suspect the shortage of the drug is now due to hoarding by black marketing gangs and private agencies.
Drug companies like Cadila Healthcare, Dr Reddy's Laboratories and Cipla have cut the prices of their respective brands of Remdesivir injection (100 mg/vial).
The three persons were arrested on Thursday in a joint operation by the Kanpur Police and the STF after a tip-off regarding black marketing of Remdesivir injections, the official said.
The court further asked the state government if testing is being done in every town, taluka of Gujarat or not.
The top price band for a Remdesivir injection is about Rs 5400, but shockingly, a family in Bidar was forced to shell out Rs 40,000 for one injection last week.
According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the officers of the Health Department left for Ahmedabad to get 25000 Remedisver injections at 10.40 am today.
While some shops were selling the injection at higher prices ranging between 1200 to Rs 6000, other had put ‘Remdesivir Not Available’ stickers outside.
